BMW's Performance parts brochure


A brochure for BMW's Performance parts for the entire range of Beemers and in particular, the new 1-series coupe, has found its way into cyberspace.

While the leaked brochure is printed in German, you can probably see that BMW’s new performance parts line-up includes a variety of mods that would transform your otherwise run-of-the-mill 3-series sedan into an individualised specimen.

Through the use of various translation softwares available online, Beemer aficionados have been able to work out some of the products that will be available to them soon. How does yellow "BMW Performance" six-piston calipers on 325mm drilled and slotted rotors grab you?

What about the gorgeous set of deep sports bucket seats, carbon-fibre inserts everywhere and funky steering wheel?

2009 BMW X6 Review

BMW X6 is new generation vehicle come to attain monopoly in luxury segment.The BMW X6 will be available on the Indian roads in two variants – X6 xDrive50i (petrol) and X6 xDrive30d (diesel).

The first Sports Activity Coupé. Equipped with BMW Dynamic Performance Control, this is a coupé that knows no limits, especially in terms of driving dynamics. Dynamic Performance Control incorporates an advanced computer control and an innovative rear differential incorporating two planetary gear sets and two clutch packs that enables the system to multiply torque on an individual rear wheel

As the world’s first Sports Activity Coupe, the BMW X6 will be available in two engine variants: the xDrive50i (4.4 V8 engine, 400 hp, 450lb.-ft torque) and the xDrive35i (3.0 inline six-cylinder engine, 300 hp, 300 lb.-ft torque), both with Twin Turbo and direct injection.

It has a top speed of 155mph and delivering a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds providing a good mileage.It is available in wide range of colours and its price is $55,900.

KOMPAS.com - Modifikasi bergaya racing menuntut dual hal. Dari sisi eksterior, tampilan khasnya, warna menyala pada bodi yang dikombinasi sekujurnya penuh stiker. Satunya lagi, tenaganya harus lebih dahsyat dari standarnya.

Namun, seperti apa racing di mata wanita? Susi—panggilan keseharian wanita yang enggan menyebutkan nama lengkapnya—menjawab pada Mazda RX-8 miliknya. Katanya, racing itu identik dengan mobil kencang.



Makanya, wanita kelahiran 1973 ini memodifikasi pada sedan kupe (dua pintu) asal Jepang itu bernuansa balap. Meski baru setahun kepincut dengan modifikasi, tapi ia cukup fasih menjelaskan bagian per bagian pada mobilnya yang sudah dipermak.

Katanya, ubahan pada bodi sudah menggunakan kit VeilSide. Makin cantik lantaran VeilSide D1 GT yang membungkus sekujur Mazda ini menjiplak modifikator Jepang. Sehingga menguatkan visualisasi tunggangan drift. Dan proses pembuatannya, "Enggak lama, kok, cuma 3-4 bulan," tegas Susi.



Menurut sang Lady dari kru Fraton ini, membuat custon VeilSide D1 GT tidak sulit karena pihaknya (Fraton) sudah punya cetakannya. Mengenai bahannya mengandalkan fiberglass, mulai dari bumper depan hingga belakang. Aura racing semakin kuat melalui desain air dam besar pada apron dipadu dengan fender kembung plus sayap belakang model GT dari GReddy SP2 serta desain knalpotnya berikut diffuser-nya.

Tampilan keempat roda semakin menguatkan tampilan bernapaskan balap. Pemakaian velg VeilSide Evolution V palang lima 19 inci diperkekar dengan ubahan sistem penghenti laju. Kaliper dan disc brake depan diganti dengan Brembo 4 pot, sehingga mampu meningkatkan deselerasi secara mumpuni.



Untuk memenuhi persyaratan modifikasi ala racing, mesin Rotary 13B-MSP (Multi Side Port) di mobil harus disentuh. Di sini Susi minta ditingkatkan tenaga sampai stage 1 saja dan ubahannya disokong dengan perangkat GReddy. Termasuk putarn dapur pacu diperingan dengan pulley GReddy.

"Pernah saya coba, paling kencang 160 km/jam," ungkap Susi. Harap maklum, yang jajal wanita. Padahal, setelah mesin dioprek, tenaganya meningkat sampai 20 dk. (Andry)
